The Story Behind my QSL Picture Cards

10/19/2025

Up until the middle of 2025, I never had a graphic QSL card. I've had lots of ideas about what I'd like to have, but I was never able to make it happen.

My original cards, from back in the 1980s, were all created by hand and were pretty plain.

I've also had some commercially printed cards over the years, but they were just black ink on colored cardstock.
And then, when I installed the radio into my truck and started operating as a portable station, I decided to combine radio with photos from various locations I've visited/operated.  Almost all of my current card designs incorporate my truck into the picture in some fashion.

I QSL via digital card 100% of the time now, since I'm on the road so much. Since the cards are a bit distinctive, and not really tied to any sort of normal radio operation theme, I've decided to talk about them here.
